    Perspectives on Artists and Their Worlds: A Lecture Series

Presented by Gloria Rojas, with audio and visual support by Art Renkwitz. 

A four-week art series of lectures, beginning on January 16th.

6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Gallery Room  

Gloria Rojas is a retired teacher and broadcast journalist.  Her interest in painting dates back to childhood, and her art studies have been independent. Art Renkwitz is a retired Cambridge High School teacher of science and ethics.  He currently is the founder and leader of “Socrates,” a weekly discussion group of philosophy.

  Extensive use of visuals will be used to immerse the listener in the discussion. 

Participants do not need to have a background in art history.

choose the weeks that most interest you. 

 

The series talks are as follows:

  Week 1:  Tuesday, January 16, “John Singer Sargent and Andrew Wyeth: A Contrast” 

Week 2: Tuesday, January 23rd, “The Art of Everyday Life.” 

Week 3:  Tuesday, January 30, “Murals: From the Walls in Caves to the Streets of Dorchester.” 

Week 4:  Tuesday, February 6th, “Caillebotte Who…and the Impressionists.”
