Thomas B. Ryan – biography

Thomas B. Ryan was originally schooled as an aerospace engineer.  In 1997 he began his art career studying with realist artist Jan Elmy and

in 2002 won a six week scholarship to the Schuler School of Arts in Baltimore, Maryland where he continued to refine his style.  Tom’s work

can be portrayed as classical realism with a focus on still lifes.  He has shown his work at the Troika and South Street galleries in Easton and

at the Bishop Stock gallery in Snow Hill, Maryland.  He has been teaching oil painting for ten years at the Dorchester Center for the Arts in

Cambridge, Maryland.  Tom has won numerous awards at local art competitions.  He is also a volunteer instructor working with students in

the Talbot Mentors program in Easton and has participated in the Dorchester Center for the Arts Celebrity Artist fundraisers.
